FAQ:
Themer is more than an app. It will transform your homescreen to something that is beautiful, functional, and designed to fit the way you use your phone. Just choose one of our many free themes from the in-app browser and press apply. We have sports, sci-fi, nature, minimalism, movies, music, and games. Dozens of themes to choose from and more added daily. Based on the Android theming website, MyColorScreen.com, Themer does all the hard work for you, setting up wallpaper, widgets, and icons in one click.
Features:
- The app is free and themes are free.
- Easily go back to your old homescreen setup (though we doubt you'll want to!).
- All themes are customizable, or you can use them as-is.
- New "Favorites" tab in the app drawer lets you quickly access your most-used apps.
- Themer Actions technology learns your app preferences. It doesn't matter if you're using Pandora or Spotify for music, WeatherBug or AccuWeather for weather, or TweetCaster or HootSuite for Twitter. Themer will get it right.
Basic Instructions:
- After install, you must enter your code after which Themer will apply a "welcome" theme to your device that explains how to find themes.
- Once you've applied your first theme, long press the homescreen and choose "Browse Themes" (or click the Themer icon in the app drawer) to return to the Themer menu.
- To make Themer your default homescreen, go to the Themer menu and choose "Set Home." Click "Themer" and "Always."
- To get back to your old homescreen, go to the Themer menu, choose "Settings," "Themer," and "Restore Old Homescreen."
- After applying a theme, swipe down anywhere on your screen to see your notification bar. Swipe up to hide it.
Please check out our video tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqfkumDYD2E) and blog (http://www.themerapp.com/blog) for more info.
Please note that Themer supports most but not all devices running Android 4.1+. We are working hard to bring it to more devices and older versions of Android. If you are using a custom ROM that affects DPI or alters screen dimensions (such as the removal of soft keys), you will not be able to see any themes. Please restore to original configuration for Themer to function properly.
Below is a list of screen resolutions that we support:

FAQ:
1. Why are you guys so slow to send out codes? We're a really small team, and all the themes get downloaded from our servers. We need to make sure they can handle the demand! We are very very very sorry we can't go faster.
2. What devices do you support? We support most devices with Android 4.1 or above. We do NOT support tablets, the LG Optimus G, Xperia J, Note 1, or Ascend Mate. We may support them in the future.
3. Why can't I see themes on my Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 4? If you don't see any themes it's because you are running a custom ROM or some app that is changing the screen resolution (getting rid of soft keys or increasing the size of the notification bar). The themes are tuned to the device's stock resolution, and you need to restore your device to its original configuration to see themes.
4. I changed ROMs or switched phones and my code won't work! Please send us a support ticket on http://support.themerapp.com. We will respond very quickly if we are awake.

How to take a screen shot on the Samsung Galaxy S III
Capturing the screen is a great way to save something for posterity and show it off to your friends.
You just got your brand new Galaxy S III and you want to capture some of the cool stuff you can do with a screen shot, but it doesn’t work the same way as other Android phones, does it?
If you came to the Galaxy S III from a prior Android phone, you are most likely familiar with the “Android way” of capturing a screen; you hold down the Power button and the Volume down button simultaneously and the screenshot is captured and saved.
Saving a screenshot on the Galaxy S III: Method #1
There are two ways to capture a screenshot on the Galaxy S III; neither of them are the same as previous Android devices. For method #1, think iPhone – that is the button combination that will work on the Galaxy S III.
- Find the screen that you want to capture
- Press and holdboth the Power button and the Home button together
- Screenshot will be captured and saved to the Gallery app
Saving a screenshot on the Galaxy S III method #2
Samsung has built a bunch of innovative “motions” into the Galaxy S III – we will cover them all in time here on Android Central
One of the innovative motions is the ability to use your palm to swipe over the screen to capture a screen shot. This just needs to be enabled in your Settings app.
NOTE: This might already be enable on your Galaxy S III, if not, follow the steps below:
- Pull down the Notifications tray and touch the Settings icon or simply go to the Settings app on the Home screen
- Scroll down to the Motion tab and tap it
- Make sure there is a check mark in the top Motion activation box
- Scroll down to Hand motions
- Make sure there is a check mark in the Palm swipe to capture box
That’s all there is to it. From any screen, use the side of your palm and just swipe across the screen. It doesn’t matter if you go from right to left or left to right – either way will work just fine.
Go to your Gallery app and look in the Screenshots album and you will find the screenshots you just captured.
From there, you can email them, post them to Facebook, send via messaging, upload to Dropbox – whatever works best for you.

**Addendum (anticipatory computing):
-
In the morning I have a card showing the time to get to work factoring in the traffic. At quitting time, I have another card for the trip home. It lets me know if I should leave earlier or try to find another route.
-
When my plane lands, I am greeted with the currency exchange rate, nearby photo spots, places of interest, helpful phrases.
-
If I search for a restaurant on the browser on my laptop or desktop, a card will show up on the phone to let me navigate there with one tap. No need to search for it again.
-
It would send a text to the wife that I was on my way home when I left the geofenced area I set around the office.
-
When connected to the home network, it would disable the device lock. This was before I got Pebble Watch.
-
When connected to the Pebble watch, I never have to unlock my phone. If I get separated from my phone, it will lock itself.
-
If the phone gets lost or stolen, I can control my phone from any browser and do things like take pictures of the thief. It will also take pictures when someone tries to unlock the phone and quietly send them to my email account.
-
From the calendar it knows when I’m in a meeting and automatically mutes the phone for me.
-
It knows when I’m at home, and if I plug it in the charger past a certain time, it will mute all notification sounds because I’m going to sleep.
-
It watches for swipe gestures so I can launch any app (or perform phone functions) while I’m in any other app.
-
When I plug in a headset, it gives me a selection of my favorite media apps. If I’m using my bluetooth headset, then it launches my preferred listening app when I hit the play button on the headset.
-
Ever run into a video saying that it is not available in your country? I can fire up a VPN proxy on the phone and bypass that restriction.
-
The phone can also listen for your voice and it can launch other apps.
